Salpointe Catholic grad Trevor Werbylo was able to survive a torrid close by AJ Crouch and win the Forme Tour Fuzzy Zoeller Classic in Indiana.  It’s Werbylo’s first pro victory. Trevor qualified for the Forme Tour after finishing in the top 10 of PGA U, a new program instituted by the PGA to pave a path for the top collegiates to break into the pro ranks.

Werbylo had two 63’s during the 4 day event, but had two bogeys on the last five holes, giving Crouch a chance at a memorable comeback. Crouch had a closing round of 62.  But in the end, Werbylo just needed to par the final hole to escape with the win. Besides taking home the $21,000 first prize check, Werbylo went to the top of the Forme Order of Merit, all but assuring him a spot next year on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Werbylo has won in the past, taking the Prestige Classic at La Quinta while at the University of Arizona. There are three more Forme tournaments slated before the end of the season. With the pressure off, Werbylo can just go out and have fun and prepare for life on the Korn Ferry Circuit.
