What do you want from a great golfing experience? Since Phoenix is a haven for great golf courses, many management companies try to provide that great experience. Many avid golfers are familiar with some recognizable management companies that provide an outstanding experience, such as Troon Golf, which manages the Phoenician in Scottsdale and 14 other courses throughout Arizona. Another recognizable name is OB Sports Golf Management that oversees We-Ko-Pa Golf Club in Fort McDowell and Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, among others.
The great golfing experience is not always limited to the large management companies. Phoenix also has many small management groups
that are also successful in delivering a great golfing experience, such as The Scottsdale Golf Group and Foothills Golf Group. The newest management company to the Phoenix area is Raspberry Golf Management. “Raspberry Golf Management believes in pragmatic, responsible solutions to the day-to-day challenges of operating a successful golf club in today’s marketplace. Their business model is based on strong customer service with a focus on exceeding customer and employee satisfaction,” says new general manager, John Prengaman.
Prengaman noted that, “Raspberry Golf Management recently took over The Legacy Golf Club in April 2011 and The Legacy Golf Club will maintain the tradition as being one of the top courses in the Phoenix market, while focusing on the customer experience.” Prengaman also stated that they are in the process of building a state-of-the-art golf performance and coaching center that will be located on the back of the driving range. The performance center will consist of indoor and outdoor hitting bays with the most up to date 3D technology to improve the performance of any player. They are also currently remodeling the second floor of the clubhouse to put in a 200 seat banquet facility.
When asked about the uniqueness and success of Raspberry Golf Management, Prengaman said, “The Raspberry Golf Management is a full-service golf course consulting firm with over 35 years of hands-on, practical and successful experience. Their specialties include all aspects of the golf course acquisition, development and management. They offer expertise in industry consulting, product assessment and evaluation and the repositioning of golf properties to maximize value. Raspberry Golf Management does not have a corporate headquarters. Instead, all management staff work at our golf courses and understand the challenges and priorities of each facility we manage.”
Raspberry currently operates six golf facilities throughout the United States, with The Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix being their first acquisition in Arizona.
