Arizona (Aug. 2011) – Golfers can now register for the 4th annual Southern Arizona Logistics Education Organization (SALEO) Scholarship Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, at Randolph’s Dell Urich Golf Course, 600 S. Alvernon Way. This scramble format fundraiser will begin with golfer check-in at 7:00 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Included are green fees, golf cart, 2 soft drink tickets and a meal at the awards luncheon immediately following tournament competition. The awards luncheon will feature scholarship winners as well as prizes and raffle drawings.
Funding from registrations, title sponsor Port of Tucson and Scholarship Boosters will support SALEO and provide a total of $9,000 in scholarships to be distributed to nine outstanding Tucson students, who
will be recognized at the tournament luncheon sponsored by HDS Companies. Four scholarship winners will be attending Pima Community College,
three in logistics and supply chain management, Kevin Charles Wetterstrom, Melinda Nunley, and Lisa Marie Sarmiento and Mary Helen Castaneda in social services; at the University of Arizona, Carine Villa and Sandra Otero will study business administration and Alex Marisa Raptis, forensic psychology; the other two winners are Cecilia Murch in logistics at Northern Arizona University and Patricia Romo in business administration at the University of Phoenix.
